We Shall Not Be Moved is a graphic depiction of the fight against gentrification in a working-class community stretching from downtown Los Angeles to South L.A. The book is chock full of full-color images of posters designed to aid in the fight against gentrification

The Figueroa Corridor Coalition for Economic Justice was formed as a community response to the planned gentrification of the Figueroa corridor and its effects on the community. In 2001 the Coalition negotiated the nation's largest Community Benefits Agreement with a development company owned by billionaires Rupert Murdoch and Philip Anschutz. The negotiation included 30 community organizations, five unions, and more than 300 local residents.

We Shall Not Be Moved is a collaborative effort by three Los Angeles-based organizations—Strategic Actions for a Just Economy, the Center for the Study of Political Graphics and Self-Help Graphics and Art. By joining forces, the unique strengths, skills and resources of each group were integrated with the others. Together, they launched a very effective poster campaign against displacement in the Figueroa Corridor.
